EVSU Excellence: A Framework of Development

Abstract

As mandated under Republic Act No. 9311, Eastern Visayas State University shall provide advanced instruction and professional training in the arts, philosophy, social sciences, agriculture, fishery, forestry, science and technology, engineering, education, law, and other related fields. It is also mandated to undertake research and extension services, and provide progressive leadership in its area of specialization. The University will institute viable programs towards quality education by creating a vibrant modern learning environment, coupled with indigenous and cutting-edge facilities to provide first-rate opportunities for students and academics to pursue worthy scholastic endeavours. It will invest in brilliant, new academic staff and high-end facilities that will allow the university to expand its research capability, encourage interdisciplinary studies that will be at the forefront of meeting not only local but also global challenges such fighting hunger, combating disease, tackling climate change, fostering international understanding and inventing novel and critical technologies. The University will strive to produce world-class graduates with the opportunity to fulfill their potential and the ability to change society for the better by giving them the best possible experience of life in the academe, promoting their education through exceptional teaching, superb facilities and a wealth of extra-curricular activities, thus fostering in each individual a strong sense of social consciousness and personal responsibility that will enable EVSU alumni to become in demand and highly adoptable in the world of work.
