Abstract

In summary, AET is an uncommon but serious arrhythmia. Conventional pharmacologic therapy is usually unsuccessful, but a combination of flecainide and amiodarone may be efficacious in the very young. In view of the success potentially achievable by radiofrequency catheter ablation, surgical ablation should probably be reserved for patients who have multiple foci or structural abnormalities associated with their AET.
