Abstract
Abstract In our society science is now the dominant means of explaining the natural world, and evolution theory has taken over much of the role of our creation myth. The Darwinian model of evolution which is based on the idea of natural selection claims to be a highly successful theory which can be stated in two or three sentences and yet can explain all of evolution, and hence the whole of the living world. The claim is not, in point of fact, correct.
