Abstract

By substituting manganese for nickel in 2H  CsNiF 3, a series of new hexagonal perovskites with the 9R, 12R and 6H structures has been obtained; their evolution is discussed. The magnetic properties range from antiferromagnetism for the 9R phase to ferrimagnetism for the 12R and 6H structures. The action of high pressure on CsNi 0.50Mn 0.50F 3 leads to varieties of 6H and 3C types.
