Abstract
Ductile fracture occurs through the nucleation, growth and coalescence of voids. In our previous study, an evolution equation, which denotes a change in void volume fraction, and a model of void coalescence were proposed and proved to be effective in the simulation of inner fracture defects in the drawing of four types of carbon steel for machine structural use. In this study, a new evolution equation, which denotes a change in void volume fraction, is proposed for the simulation of inner fracture defects in the drawing of four types of high-carbon steel wire rod. The validities of our proposed evolution equation and model of void coalescence are clarified by comparing analytical results with experimental results.
