Abstract

The superconducting and structural properties of Li 1−xTi 2O 4 single crystals are studied at low temperature by x-ray diffraction and SQUID magnetometry. We show that Tc is directly related to Li stoichiometry and Ti valence. We show that the structure cannot withstand high Li deficiencies without Ti network disorder.
