Abstract

Objectives: Minimally invasive surgery is an increasingly used approach for mitral valve repair and replacement. Further reduction in surgical trauma can be achieved by non-rib-spreading fully endoscopic access through a 3-4 cm right lateral mini-thoracotomy, claiming that an even less invasive procedure helps to reduce postoperative pain and improve cosmetics thereby maintaining the same quality of surgery.
