Abstract

Current management models are not holistic as they do not take into account aspects such as liberation, culture, spirituality and deeds (karma). Western theories also do not focus on the higher order purpose of existence. This is where Indian Management/ Bharatiya Management can play a big role. As Indian Management/ Bharatiya Management is rooted in spiritual and cultural ideas, it can plug the gaps in current management models and create holistic models with a focus on human quality development.To see how this can be done, we need to understand the evolution of Bharatiya Management/ Indian Management in detail and identify opportunities in which Bharatiya Management can flourish.
