Abstract

Human errors have proved to bear severe economical, social and environmental consequences when breaking down the safety barriers of high risk industrial systems, such as systems for energy production, and this problem is maybe still more worrying in Eastern & Central European countries than in the EEC.This paper introduces a formal session organized around an European Network on ‘Prevention of Human Errors in Systems for Energy Production and Process Industry’ supported by the CEC. It deals with the possibility of transfer of research on human error between Western and Eastern European countries.
