Abstract

The asymptotics of a large evolution time of homogeneous turbulence in a density-stratified medium is studied. It is shown that the presence of stratification substantially changes the attenuation rate of turbulence kinetic energy and other turbulence characteristics and forms asymptotic regimes which differ from the case of an Isotropie medium. The effect of the molecular Prandtl number on the final stage of turbulence decay is studied in detail.
