Abstract

1. 1. A comparative study of DNA and Tetrahydrobiopterin synthesis, during rat liver regeneration was made, in order to investigate a possible connection between these two parameters. 2. 2. The experiments show that the value of the ratio tetrahydrobiopterin/isoxanthopterin is accompanied by the course of DNA synthesis. 3. 3. The most striking result is that the increase (synthesis) of tetrahydrobiopterin takes place before that of DNA. 4. 4. The close association of DNA replication and cell proliferation with a high value of the ratio tetrahydrobiopterin/isoxanthopterin (and/or riboflavin) is discussed.
