Abstract

We discuss the evolution of the parameters of the black hole in accretion disks on the basis of Thorne's work. We also discuss the change in the radiation flux when a Schwarzschild black hole evolves into a Kerr black hole. A criterion for thermal stability of the temperature distribution of the accretion disk is given and applied to several radiation processes in both a relativistic and a nonrelativistic treatment.
