Abstract

A numerical solution was obtained for a two-dimensional axisymmetric radiation-gasdynamic problem of the evolution of a plasma column near a planar obstacle in air of reduced density on exposure to a neodymium laser beam of annular cross section. Detailed tables of optical and thermodynamic properties of air were used in the calculations. The transfer equation was solved for 6 spectral groups and 90 directions of the radiation.
