Abstract

Summary Following the administration of 3,5- 3 H-L-tyrosine (TYR- 3 H), brain tyrosine specific activity (S.A.) reaches values similar to those of serum, while, following 3 H-L-tryptophan (TRY- 3 H) injection, serum S.A. remains about twice as high as that of the brain, suggesting that a compartment of serum tryptophan does not exchange with the brain. The AA. conclude that this compartment is tryptophan bound to albumine.
