Abstract
1. 1. Four groups of polychaete worms, differing in feeding habits, have been studied with respect to presence of metal-binding proteins. 2. 2. The presence of low molecular weight metal-binding proteins was clearly demonstrated in the species Lumbrineris fragilis as well as in Harmothoë sp. both being carnivorous animals. One of the proteins found in L. fragilis was similar to mammalian metallothionein (Mt).
