Abstract

Gemella morbillorum (G. morbillorum), which is part of the normal flora of the mouth and the upper respiratory tract, is rarely associated with infection other than infective endocarditis (IE). However, among IE, G. morbillorum is an unusual pathogen; a comprehensive review of the literature reveals only less than 30 cases [1–3]. We present a case of acute embolic stroke due to IE caused by this microorganism.
