Abstract

It is thus concluded that Laue photograms offer support for a postulated surface region consisting of three different dislocation density regions: a high dislocation density region at the surface, a still higher dislocation density region at about 0.175mm below the surface and a low dislocation density between the two. The average dislocation density of the three surface must be below the dislocation density of the interior to account for observed bending behavior when half the gage length is electropolished.
