Abstract
Finding evidence to answer a clinical question is an important step in the evidence-based practice (EBP) process.1 This article focuses on the next step: development of practice recommendations from the available evidence. The transition from evidence to practice recommendation is less difficult if a clinical practice guideline based on high-quality research is available. However, clinical practice guidelines are not always available, and the practice question must be answered by going directly to the evidence.
