Abstract
The New View of Women's Sexual Problems proposes “Sexual Problems Relating to Partner and Relationship” as a major context for understanding women's sexual problems. This commentary summarize s some quantitative research on heterosexual women's (and men's) sexual satisfaction based on the Interpersonal Exchange Model of Sexual Satisfaction. The research provides strong empirical support for the importance of including the relational context in any discussion or definition of women's sexual problems, sexual functioning and/or sexual satisfaction.
