Abstract

ABSTRACT The Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers (ATSA), an international voluntary membership organization, has published for its members the document, “Practice Standards and Guidelines for the Evaluation, Treatment, and Management of Adult Male Sexual Abusers.” The “standards” in the document detail ATSA membership requirements and ethical behavior that members must follow. The “guidelines” are recommended best practices for delivering services to this population. This commentary outlines the process and evidence base used to developed these standards and guidelines.
