Abstract
Abstract The presence of large clusters in the input carrier gas of a gas jet recoil transport system has been estbilished from light-scattering experiments. With a 90° scattering geometry a λ−1 dependence was observed for light scattered by flowing ethylene gas, obtained from a reservoir that was maintained above the critical pressure. Estimates of lifetimes, diameter and density of clusters in the flowing gas are provided.
