Abstract
Data for the astrophysical S-factor and the angular distribution for the three-nucleon transfer reaction 7 Li ( p, α) 4 He are now available from E CM = 13 KeV to 1 MeV. Analysis of these data was performed in the framework of a direct reaction theory (DWBA). The excellent agreement between experiment and theory provides strong evidence for a direct reaction mechanism at thermonuclear energies.
