Abstract

We report evidence for an isoscalar state X(1110), observed via p-barn..-->..rho/sup -/+X (..--> pi../sup +/..pi../sup -/) in p-bard annihilations at rest, of mass and width 1107 +- 4 MeV/c/sup 2/ and 111 +- 8 (statistical) +- 15 (systematic) MeV/c/sup 2/, respectively. The product branching ratio B(p-barn..-->..rho/sup -/X)B(X ..-->..2..pi..) = (3.6 +- 0.5)% and J/sup P//sup C/(I/sup G/) = 0/sup ++/(0/sup +/), 2/sup ++/(0/sup +/),. . . . As a 0/sup ++/ the X(1110) would be a candidate for the ground /sup 13/P/sub 0/ state of the I = 0 natural-parity band of quasinuclear NN-bar states with the zeta(1480) being the /sup 13/P/sub 2/-/sup 13/F/sub 2/. This interpretation predicts masses for the member states /sup 13/S/sub 1/-/sup 13/D/sub 1/ and /sup 13/D/sub 3/-/sup 13/G/sub 3/ of 1240 and 1850 MeV/c/sup 2/, respectively. Evidence for the /sup 13/S/sub 1/-/sup 13/D/sub 1/ is discussed.
