Abstract

The 11/2 −[505] state at 80 keV in 193Ir is populated after neutron capture in 192Os. It is concluded that the feeding occurs from an isomeric state in 193Os with a half-life of ±1 min. The capture cross section is about 14 mb. The isomeric state is interpreted as being the 9/2 −[505] state. The log ft value for the 9/2 −[505] → 11/2 −[505] transition is greater than 4.9 and probably smaller than 5.2.
