Abstract

Everted colonic diverticula sometimes demonstrate overlying mucosa with a finely nodular or “cloudlike” surface (A-C). This may cause the overlying mucosa to be mistaken for a sessile serrated lesion, leading to endoscopic resection. However, the mucosa is essentially normal histologically, and resection is not warranted (D, H&E, orig. mag. ×40).
