METO JOVANOVSKI EVENT The event about to take place was intended to be the final set- tling of accounts. Trpen was well aware of this, for he had been anxiously awaiting the event for a long time. Judging by his in- ner sense of resolution, he felt that he could win. The fact that the enemy strolled proudly ahead of him, oblivious of Trpen's exis- tence, had an ambiguous meaning.
