Abstract

ABSTRACT Objective: Assessment and evaluation of over daytime sleeping modes of the nurses working in Malatya Province Center hospitals. Tools and Methods: This study has a descriptive sectional feature. 1025 nurses still working in the hospitals of Malatya Province Center are the universe of the study. 860 nurses have been reached because of refusing the research, annual leave, not being in the duty station, provisional duties. The rate of research inclusion is 83.9%. Personal data form and Epworth Sleepiness Scale (ESS) have been used in the study. Data were analyzed by SPSS 12.0 package program. Ki square analysis, Krukskall Walls and Mann Whitney U tests were used in the study. Findings: Average ages of the nurses are 29ア5 years. ESS total scores of 18.4% of the nurses were observed 11 and over, in other words it was observed that they had over daytime sleeping modes.
