Abstract
This study was conducted in the Research and Application Farm of Faculty of Agriculture. University of Ankara. during the years of 1992 and 1993. Pepper (Capsicum annuum L.) was irrigated by furrow, sprinkler and drip irrigation methods. Irrigation water was applied at soil water depletior, fraction of 0.40 into root depth of 60 cm. Evapotranspiration values were measured for every period of 10 days during the whole growing season. These data were compared with the values calculated by JensenHaise method (J-H), FAO modification of Penman method (P-FAO), Penman-Monteith method (P-M), FAO modification of Class A Pan Evaporation method (A-FAO) and Christiansen-Hargreaves modification of Class A Pan Evaporation method (A-CH). By this way, the most suitable estimation method of evapotranspiration which could be used for irrigation scheduling of pepper was tried to determine. As a result, it was found that the most suitable eestimation method was FAO modification of Penman (P-FAO). In addition, the crop coefficient (kc) curve was prepared.
