Abstract
A kinetic model of the process of volatile component evaporation from a solution in the presence of a gravitational field has been elaborated. The evaporation is supposed to occur into an indifferent gas stream, flowing above the upper surface of a thin flat layer of the solution. The model is based on a one-dimensional diffusion equation in an external field. The cases of evaporation of both atoms and diatomic molecules of the volatile component from the atomic solution in a non-volatile solvent were considered. The analysis of the expressions of evaporation rate and volatile component concentration in the liquid phase as functions of time and parameters of the system has been carried out as well.
