Abstract

The Covid 19 pandemic has changed learning patterns. Various online media are used so that the learning process can run optimally. The case-based learning and flipped learning, which was previously carried out conventionally in the classroom, is carried out online by using creative online tools. The lecturers also combine synchronous and asynchronous methods in teaching for case-based learning and flipped learning. The aim of this research is to analyze the effectiveness on students’ engagement regarding online case-based learning and flipped learning. This research use research method by distributed questionnaire to all students from School of Information Systems, who have experienced the learning process with case-based learning and flipped-learning methods for 28 courses with result of 224 students fulfilled the questionnaire. Data analysis was using SEM-PLS. The result found that Learn, Practice, and Assess had a significant impact on effective online case-based learning and flipped learning related to students’ engagement. From this result, researchers can evaluate several factors that motivated students to engage in online teaching and learning process, especially in case-based and flipped learning courses. Lecturers also can add more videos and use various learning methods to increase student’s engagement.
