Abstract

This paper investigates four types of stator windings of an 11kW three-phase squirrel-cage induction motor with die-cast copper rotor. The windings are introduced and designed based on the basic principles. The loss distributions of these four windings are analyzed by the calculation method of combining the 2D transient and time-harmonic field. Further, four prototypes with different windings are fabricated and tested. The test data verifies the analysis results, and shows that the highest efficiency of the winding at rated load is 91.23%, which are the single-double-layer windings. Finally, the winding with the lowest losses is spotted, and the power loss characteristics of the four windings are given for the 11kW induction motor.
