Abstract

Tourism area is strongly related to decent environmental conditions. Waste Stabilization Pond (WSP) is usually used to treat the wastewater from the tourism area because it utilizes a naturally-occurring process. The WSP consists of anaerobic pond (cell 1), facultative pond (cell 2a and 2b), and maturation pond (cell 3). The data used in this study are secondary data measured by PT X. The indicators of wastewater quality in this study were Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD), Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), and Total Suspended Solid (TSS) which measured by the standard method. The results of the evaluation of the Hydraulic Retention Time (HRT) and Food to Microorganism (F/M) ratio showed conformity with the design criteria. While the results of monitoring the parameters of COD, BOD, and TSS in the WSP effluent indicated a value that has met the quality standard. But, to improve the quality standard advanced wastewater treatment need to apply for TSS removal.
