Abstract
We show that loads induced in turbine blades by vibration make a significant contribution to the dynamic stressed state of the teeth of compressor disks. The dynamic stresses formed in the teeth of the investigated blade wheels can be as high as 42% of the stresses induced in the blades. Together with fretting corrosion, static stresses, and other factors, this may lead to initiation and propagation of cracks in teeth and, as a final result, their fracture.
