Abstract

In the present work, mechanical, physical, wettability, and microstructure characterization were employed to evaluate the performance of composite material. Uniform distribution with a good interfacial layer of SAC and Si3N4 was observed for PET/8.75%Si3N4+8.75% wasteSAC powder composite material. Results showed significant improvements in tensile (60.55%), hardness (150.99%), bending (228.47%), and compressive strength (105.56%) compared to neat PET-based composites after the addition of 8.75%Si3N4+8.75% wasteSAC powder. Therefore, studied composite could be a replacement of metals and ceramics, in various structural and functional applications due to their improved mechanical and thermal properties.
