Abstract

Traffic and its impact in urban areas have been the focus of attention in recent years. It is mainly public passenger transport and passenger car traffic that has benefited from it rather than the transport of goods. However, because of the growth of urban freight transport and the problems it creates, there is growing interest in urban freight and its environmental consequences. Work on the logistics of urban goods transport has been established as part of the research program for road transport and intermodal connections. The primary objective is to identify what can improve the efficiency of urban freight systems (including the optimal implementation of innovative measures) while ensuring the sustainable development and quality of life of urban areas. Urban freight logistics is a difficult part of the freight transport policy. It concerns the organization of freight transport, mainly in urban areas. Local, regional and national issues play an important role. It is therefore of interest to local, regional and national authorities.
