Abstract

For predicting the behavior of wood products with a final finish by applying polyurethane coatings (mainly solvent) under realistic conditions of use is extremely important to monitor all quality characteristics (physical, mechanical, chemical and performance) as well as fire-engineering based on selected characteristics of thermal degradation The paper presents proposals evaluation criteria (total weight loss, maximum rate of burning, time to reach maximum speed of burning, ignition time) for test radiant heat source for wood surface finishing materials by polyurethane coatings for a comprehensive assessment of fire-technical and environmental safety materials for predicting the behavior of these materials in response to fire.
