Abstract

Infectious keratoconjunctivitis, or moraxellosis, is a highly contagious infectious disease of the eyes of cattle, characterized by conjunctivitis and ulcerative keratitis, found throughout the world. In this regard, the development of new means and treatment schemes is an urgent area in modern practical veterinary science. The aim of the work was to evaluate the therapeutic effectiveness of the drug Tulatrin in infectious keratoconjunctivitis in cattle caused by Moraxella bovis Tulatrin is a drug developed by NITA-PHARM, which belongs to the group of antibacterial agents of macrolides. Active substance of the drug Tulatromycin -- has a wide spectrum of action against many gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms, including Mannheimia (Pasteurella) haemolytica, Pasteurella multocida, Haemophilus somnus, Haemophilus parasuis, Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae, Moraxella bovis, Neisseria spp.Analyzing anamnestic data, we found that in most cases calves developed one-sided keratoconjunctivitis, which was characterized by the following clinical signs: first, abundant lacrimation appeared, the outflows were first transparent, then they thickened and took on a purulent character, the mucosa acquired a fine-grained structure. After the therapy, the following changes were noted in the clinical picture: in the experimental group, the release of purulent exudate decreased in animals on day 2-3. By day 3-4, a decrease in swelling and conjunctival hyperemia was noted, lacrimal fluid acquired transparency. On day 4-6, the absence of lacrimation, and inflammation of the conjunctiva, as well as lightening of the focus of corneal haze were recorded. The therapeutic efficacy of the drug Tulatrin in infectious keratoconjunctivitis in cattle caused - Moraxella bovis was 100%. The use of the Draksin analogue drug in the same pathology made it possible to obtain a similar therapeutic effect - 100%.When using the drug Tulatrin, the recovery of animals occurred on average on the 5th day. The recovery time for animals using Draksin was 6.3 days.
