Abstract
The objective of this study was to evaluate, through an electronic questionnaire, the satisfaction of Community Health Workers after completing the course “Open your mouth, folks! – What you need to know about oral cancer!”, offered in the distance modality and self-instruction, in the State of Pernambuco, Brazil. Pedagogical intervention study, with convenience sample. The scientific content addressed different points in the process of identifying oral lesions and early detection of oral cancer, focusing on the role of the Community Health Worker. At the end of the steps, the student responded to a satisfaction assessment, with 13 questions, about the model, classes, themes, designer, activities, assessments and importance. A qualitative analysis of the evaluation was carried out. Two hundred and five workers constituted the sample, where 96.93% (n=198) responded positively to the first 11 questions. In the question 12, 90.7% of the participants (n=186) assigned a grade of 5 to the course, according to Likert scale. In the last question of the satisfaction evaluation, the participants wrote their opinions, criticisms and suggestions. The self-instructional course obtained a good evaluation by the students, generating a high level of satisfaction.
