Abstract

This chapter presents several applications of the results, created with the model of the previous one. Once the idealized geometry of tubular or flat braids is available several of their characteristics can be evaluated. Relation between the elongation and the current braiding angle, diameter and current braiding angle, jamming limits with and without yarn compression can be computed based on the idealized geometry. The well known equation about the cover factor of braids is derived again in order its correct validity range to be evaluated, and the importance of the taking care of this validity area is demonstrated. The equation is extended for triaxial briads. Finally, some characteristic points of the force elongation diagram are calculated and the weight of the braids are derived.
