Abstract

Basic care represents the first level of attention of a health system, directing the flow of services in health networks from the most elementary to the most complex. The aim of study was to investigate the organizational structure of existing basic care in the city of Nova Esperanca do Piria-Para. Qualitative, descriptive research, realized with health professionals in the only city's Basic Health Unit, present for the approach. The study pointed issues that compromise the quality of service offered at primary care. It concludes that the improvement of the physical structure of the unit, employees training, hiring more professionals can help improve the service.
