Abstract

The paper refers to evaluation of the measurement uncertainty in calibration of bell standard installation used for metrological verification of gas flow meters and gas meters. The evaluation and calculation of the measurement uncertainty is necessary because its knowledge is necessary to make good quality measurements and to understand and use the results of the measurements performed. The evaluation of the measurement uncertainty, as part of the calibration, is very important in demonstrating the capability of the calibration laboratories and which must be reported on the certificate. Is important firstly to identify the sources of uncertainty in the measurement, then we must estimate the contribution of the uncertainty from each source, finally the individual uncertainties are combined. The calibration of the bell installations used for the verification of the gas meters is performed by the direct comparison method using a metal volume measure of special construction, secondary standard.
