Abstract

Experimental studies were done to evaluate the effectiveness of two volatile oils (cinnamon, Eucalyptus oil) and two chemical insecticides (carbon sulfide, paradichlorobenzene) added to silver nanoparticles to control a museum insect pest Anthrenus Verbasci. The results showed that 1.5% ( v/v) cinnamon oil added to 5% of oil concentration silver nanoparticles was the most effective on controlling Anthrenus Verbasci. The effects of these materials were also studied on the chemical and physical properties of dyed woolen textile by using FTIR-ART, XRD in addition to mechanical properties measurements.
