Abstract

The determination of total iodine in drinking and well water by neutron activation analysis and separation of128I (T=25.0 min) by isotope exchange has been examined at the 5–15 ng.ml−1 level. Using the Lazy Suzan of a Triga Mark-II reactor, the capacity is ≦5 samples per hour at a precision of 15–20% per aliquot and no apparent systematic bias.
