Abstract
The condition of contact endurance of machine parts is proposed, in which the maximum equivalent stress in the contact zone of the parts is used as a criterion, and the material endurance limit is used as a critical value. The use of this condition would allow to avoid time-consuming experiments on determination of the contact endurance limit and quickly assess the working ability of parts exposed to periodic contact load.
