Abstract

Introduction. At the present stage of development of women's handball, the ranking of leading national teams is a major component in the international arena. Despite this, the level of training of goalkeepers and the results of their competitive activities do not always correspond to the rating of national teams. All this indicates the need to analyze and justify their competitive results at the European Forum. Aim is to analyze the game of goalkeepers of women's national handball teams at the group stage of the European Championship 2020 and identify trends in the game. Material and methods: theoretical analysis and generalization of scientific and methodological literature and technical protocols on the Internet; method of system analysis; chronological method; methods of mathematical statistics. Results. The progress of the team's game is determined on the basis of the objective results of the competitive activity both the actions of players, and the actions of goalkeepers. At the previous group stage of the 2020 European Handball Championship in the competitive activities of goalkeepers determined: the number of rebounds from the 6-meter line (on average at the group stage - from 242 throws, 48 ​​saves, efficiency 19.8%, the best personal - 1 throw 1 save , 100%), extreme positions (respectively, 485, 147. 30.3% and 8, 5, 62.5%) and the second line of attack (due to the 9-meter line) in positional attacks (respectively, 463, 188, 40.6% and 7, 5, 71.4%); the number of rebounds after such a type of rapid attack as rapid breakthrough (respectively, 166, 44, 26.5% and 1, 1, 100%) and separation (respectively, 164, 35, 21.3% and 1, 1, 100 %); the number of rebounded 7-meter free throws (respectively, 175, 37, 21.1% and 1, 1, 100%). The effectiveness of the use of technical and tactical actions of goalkeepers in matches with their opponents helps to increase both their level of competitive activity and the success of the national team. Conclusions. The results of our own research allow us to control the process of training high-class goalkeepers, to predict the level of their sportsmanship, outline ways to improve these indicators in the training process in preparation for competitions of the highest level. The results provide handball experts with valuable information on general trends in modern handball, as well as specific differences between national federations in Europe.
