Abstract

Competitive advantage is an essential factor for the development and longevity of businesses. It is associated with companies' ability to learn, manage their knowledge, and recognize and accurately interpret opportunities and barriers to learning processes. This work aimed to identify the barriers to organizational learning in a company in the port sector. For this, an instrument was used, such as an interview script composed of 27 questions, grouped by model learning process: Intuition, interpretation, integration and institutionalization (4I) and subgrouped by influencing factors, with semi-structured questions aimed at identifying the barriers to organizational learning present in the company. The results were analyzed based on the recordings of the interviewees' speeches. The main results showed 28 of the 80 barriers listed in the adopted model, highlighting those related to the intuition process, especially those with a personal action factor, revealing opportunities for improvement in actions and mechanisms to promote the creation of knowledge and the generation of innovative ideas.
