Abstract

This study analyses the evaluation of teaching and learning of Physics in senior secondary schools in Ankpa local government area of Kogi State Nigeria. The study used the population of thirty three teachers in the area; checklist and questionnaire were used as the data collection instrument. Percentage was used to analyze data. The findings reveals that the Physics laboratories in the local government are not well equipped, also 15.15% and 3.03% of the teachers are B.Sc and HND holders, NCE and B.Ed holders are 24.24% and 51.5% respectively which justify the qualification of the teachers. It was also revealed that they don’t teach all the topics in the syllabus because of time despite having all the teaching materials. Recommendations were offered to ensure proper teaching and learning in the area.
