The research found through the index of the total ranks that there is a clear disparity between AL Karrada district and AL Shua’la district area in the management of solid waste, and environmental pollution, Where Karrada district achieved a high level and achieved rank 5, while Al-Shula neighbourhood achieved a low level, achieving a rank of 4. The research concluded that the Shula area suffers from environmental pollution, while the Karrada district is less polluted. The reasons for this discrepancy are attributed to weak administrative experience, lack of financial allocations, poor planning and failure to keep pace with technical developments for sustainable solid waste management.
