Abstract

Technology has flourished enormously over the last few decades, which has bought a revolution to the IT and Telecom sector. Cell phones which were primarily developed to make phone calls, have now turned out to be a necessity and are just not limited to calling. They have taken over many gadgets which are useful in day to day lives. Every day people encounter a significant number of better and improved features being embedded into them. Today they are available in all shape and sizes and within every budget, this is primarily due to two reasons, the first being an exponential growth in the number of users and the other being the persistent entry of new manufacturers in the market. This puts users into dilemma to select an idle smartphone for them because manufactures are offering smartphones at cut throat prices with a wide range of features, so in this paper the aim is to utilize the MCDM (multi criteria decision making approach) approach by employing the technique of EDAS (Evaluation Based on Distance from Average Solution) to evaluate the previously selected smartphones available in Indian market under a particular budget to choose the most appropriate phone for the users.
