Evaluation of the tear volume measurements is an indispensable part of the examination for the diagnosis of dry eye.1 The Schirmer I test is the most general tear volume measurement in the clinic, but this test has many modifications and interpretations and may not have enough sensitivity and specificity for the diagnosis of dry eye and keratoconjunctivitis sicca (KCS) of Sjogren’s syndrome (SS).2,3 This clinical study was designed to evaluate the Schirmer test reading using two types of dye dilution tests, tear clearance ratio (TCR) tests 14 and 2.
